The aim of this teaching material is to present the perspectives of the European Union in selected member and non-member states such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Spain. Each national contribution comprises two major parts: – The first part concentrates on the impact of migration and enlargement issues on the perception of the European Union. – The second part presents two case studies depicting one issue that had a significant impact on the relations between particular state and EU institutions. Additionally each part includes a list of recommended readings for further education. Meantime the readings proposed below deal with the theoretical explanation of the relation between public opinion and EU integration, the role of public opinion in a specific EU policy, namely the enlargement issue and migration policy.
