Module 2: Rule of Law and European Integration

The main aim of this module is to gather the necessary materials for the systematization of the courses content and learning materials.

This training module introduces the context of Rule of Law and European Integration.

It compiles legal frameworks, country-specific analyses, and case studies from Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, and Spain.

The materials, categorized by complexity, emphasize how these post-socialist nations are building their understanding of the Rule of Law through both national and EU/international legal norms, with a strong focus on judicial independence and fundamental rights.

The training material in this module follows the three-dimensional logic of identifying the country specifics, the collection of country-specific and yet comparable sources and the comparison at regional and EU levels.

.

The main part of the training materials under this Module has been developed under the Erasmus+ Project ReNewEurope: “Rediscovering New Europe” On-Wheels Summer School for Balkan/Central and Eastern European trans-border history and politics (2020-1-PL01-KA203-081999).

The current final version has been updated by all partners to reflect the changing environment as well as to include the perspective of Spain in the analysis.
